1,186 Assisted Living Facilities Have Not Responded to Requirements in the Department of Elder Affairs Rule

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Today, Department of Elder Affairs (DOEA) Secretary Jeffrey Bragg announced that 1,186 assisted living facilities have not responded to requirements in Emergency Rule 58AER17-1. By October 31, all assisted living facilities were required to submit a detailed plan to DOEA or apply for a waiver. These facilities will be subjected to the fine of $1,000 per day or license revocation beginning November 15 if they fail to come into compliance by the deadline.
